The stars or the group of stars which are very distant from Earth is known as Nakshatra in Hindu astrology and are used as a landmark to identify the position of any planet in the Solar System. The complete horoscope is divided into 12 signs of 30 degrees each and into 27 Nakshatras each having its unique name and presiding planet. So basically each zodiac sign have 2 and 1/4 Nakshatras. Each particular Nakshatra is then split into 4 Charan's called as Nakshatra Pad. So overall total there are 108 Nakshatra Pad. So each zodiac sign consists of Nine Nakshatra Charan.

To eradicate the malefic effects of Nakshatras, the Nakshatra Shanti Puja is performed. The malefic effects of plants in their mein periods or Sun periods are nullified by this Pooja. Also one gets beneficial results from the planets.

There are two types of Nakshatra pujas as mentioned below:

• Garand Mool Nakshatra Pooja - If the native is born in Hand mool Nakshatra ( magha, mool, Ashlesha, Ashwini, Jyeshtha and Revati Nakshatra). It's different kind of Pooja.
• Nakshatra Pooja - For theresr of Nakshatras this pooja is done. For example if the native is born under Pushya Nakshatra, then his life is ruled by this Nakshatra and so a ritual should be done for this Pushya Nakshatra for the well being, health and abundance.
